People named ‘KatyPerrysBootyHole’ and ‘wetbutt23’ just broke some of the biggest baseball news of year

The Creator A Character Mascot Generator   As far as news corrections go, this one from CSN Chicago on Thursday is an all-time classic. Welcome, yet again, to our brave new media world. So how did we get here?  CSN Chicago issued the above correction after reporting the White Sox traded starting pitcher Jose Quintana across town to the Cubs for four minor league prospects. As the local sports news site scrupulously admitted, they were first to the story among major media outlets — but news of the trade had actually broken Wednesday night on Reddit.  That's right. Step aside national baseball reporters. There are a couple new hotshots in the journalism game. Make room for "wetbutt23" and "KatyPerrysBootyHole." Hackers stole credit card info from Trump Hotel guests in 14 different locations

The Creator A Character Mascot Generator   Looks like Donald Trump has another hack to be concerned about. Hackers recently stole information from guests of 14 Trump Hotels, including the firm's properties along Central Park in New York City and the recently-opened Trump hotel in Washington, D.C, according to a letter and notice released by Trump Hotels. SEE ALSO: Trump’s Tech Week did not make America great The hackers managed to steal information only from guests who stayed at the hotels during certain time periods, mostly starting in November 2016, though in the case of one hotel, as far back as July. Some hotels had guest information stolen for a period of only three days, while other hotels had months worth of information stolen by hackers. Android users want to get pregnant, iPhone users avoid it, fertility app study shows

The Creator A Character Mascot Generator   We know there are differences between iPhone and Android users. Android users are more honest. More women own iPhones.  But the differing trends may extend to family planning, too. According to a survey by the fertility and period tracking app Dot (and its parent company, Cycle Technologies), Android owners use the app to plan pregnancy, while iOS users download the cycle tracker to prevent it.  The app analyzed metrics from 50,000 active users. Twenty-five percent of Dot users on Android operating systems used the app to plan a pregnancy, as opposed to only 19 percent of iOS users. Thirty-five percent of iOS users tracked their cycles on Dot to prevent pregnancy, as did 29 percent of Android users.  Read more...More about Iphone, Android, Ios, Periods, and Womens Health [Read More ...] Instant Content For A WP Site...

Just how big is this new, trillion ton Antarctic iceberg, anyway?

The Creator A Business Card Creator    The iceberg that broke off from Antarctica's Larsen C Ice Shelf between July 10 and July 12 is gargantuan. At about 2,200 square miles in area, and ranking as one of the largest icebergs ever observed, it's difficult to imagine just how big it really is.  Here are some size comparisons that may help you put it into context.  The area of the iceberg is about equal to the state of Delaware, or four Londons, and the volume of ice contained in the iceberg is about 277 cubic miles. This means that, if melted down, the iceberg contains enough water to fill 462 million Olympic size swimming pools.  SEE ALSO: One of the largest icebergs ever recorded just broke free of Antarctica Read more...More about Climate, Science, Global Warming, Antarctica, and Glaciers [Read More ...] Instant Content For A WP Site...

This ‘Game of Thrones’ episode got the most tweets

The Creator A Business Card Creator    Unless you've been living with the faceless men in Braavos, it's no surprise that Game of Thrones was the most-tweeted show of 2016.  As Season 7 approaches, the show has already been tweeted about 13.8 million times in 2017. Wednesday morning, Twitter shared rankings of the show's most talked-about episodes, characters, and emoji. Now that winter is here, you can expect those numbers to soar. The previous esports prize pool record was held by last year's Dota 2 International, which hit $20,770,460 thanks to crowdfunding. Are you a person on the internet right now?

The Creator A Character Mascot Generator   You are? Good, welcome. We need to talk. The future of the internet is at stake. We've been here before (paging John Oliver), but we have a new administration now so we're essentially back where we started.  SEE ALSO: Cable companies are going to screw up the internet because that's their job Yes, we're talking about net neutrality. We see you stifling that yawn, but honestly, you're reading this on the internet right now, so get on board.  What's net neutrality? It's the idea of providing a free and open internet for all.  In a world where net neutrality does not exist, websites and online platforms, like the Facebook app or Netflix on your Apple TV, could pay more money to have high-speed (essentially priority) access to you.  Facebook, Instagram, and Messenger could load much faster on your smartphone than Snapchat, for example, since the first three have money to throw at service providers.
